The research of the Clinical Bioinformatics Area of public health, awarded by Cajasol Foundation
Last Thursday, April 4th, The Antonio Machado Room of the Cajasol Foundation in Seville hosted the ceremony of the 'Cajasol Foundation Information Technology and Communication in Biomedicine' Awards. The winners were Joaquín Dopazo Blázquez, head of the Clinical Bioinformatics Area, in the category 'Research Group', for his scientific contributions in the field of bioinformatics applied to genetics, and Salumedia Tecnologías S.L.U., in the 'Research Company' modality, for combining research and development of applications in the field of digital health.
The work, carried out at the Clinical Bioinformatics Area of the Public Health System of Andalusia (FPS), has been awarded for its contribution to new technologies in Biomedicine. This award recognizes the scientific contributions in the field of bioinformatics applied to genetics, Joaquín Dopazo Blázquez for his scientific contributions in the field of bioinformatics applied to genetics, as reported by the Board in a press release.
All the advances and findings performed by the Clinical Bioinformatics Area have been presented on several occasions in meetings and professional conferences of great relevance in the sector. Such as the largest biotechnology congress BIOSPAIN 2018, held last September in Seville, as well as the XIII Salud Investiga Conference, which took place in October in Granada. In both events, Joaquín Dopazo highlighted the commitment of his team to make a transformation in the management of genomic Big Data, and to develop a unique and secure platform that will serve to respond to all the demands within the health system, being able to offer personalized medicine.
